When Good Organs Go Bad

Hello, friends!  First off, if the title of this post has you worried, it is NOT about Superkid.  No, no, the organ I’m referring to is far more dispensable than the heart.   {Sigh of relief.}

I haven’t been writing much this week, and I wish I could say it’s because I’ve been busy painting.  Or because Bionic Man and I jetted off to Hawaii.  Or because I have been working hard outside in the yard.

None of the above, unfortunately.  Something much less fun has been keeping me away from the ole’ blog.

Fact is, it has taken three trips to three different doctors, an overnight stay in the ER, various lab tests, and a CT scan to find out that my uterus is trying to kill me.

I’m being melodramatic.  It’s not literally trying to kill me, but it certainly has felt that way, this week.  Too make a long story short, I’ve been a little preoccupied, not too mention all hopped up on pain medication.

Lucky for me, I have some wonderfully helpful friends, a very supportive mother and sisters who let me talk their ears off, kids who know how to pack their own lunches, and a husband who shows up with flowers at exactly the right moment.  So I’m going to be fine.

Admittedly, though, it’s a little hard to type when I’m taking pain medication–let alone come up with creative, insightful things to say.  Or write things that make sense.  (I had to type “friends” eight times before I spelled it right.  Ha.)

So, if there are any of my readers out there who would like to come on over and visit here in Holland, I would LOVE to feature you as guest bloggers over the next week or two!  You know I like variety, so you can share just about anything–a recipe, craft, DIY project, tips for getting your kiddo through a hospital stay, travel tips, or even good, clean knock-knock jokes.  You can even use something you’ve posted to your own blog in the past.  It’s all fair game.  If you are interested, this is what you need to do:

  • email me:  triptoholland {at} gmail {dot} com
  • tell me what you have in mind for your guest post
  • I’ll email you back and give you some easy directions for sending your post to me
  • You don’t even have to have a blog to be a guest blogger, just email capability.
So, no casseroles, please–just bring me writing!
